AI workers, including OpenAI and Google DeepMind employees, expressed their concerns about the risks posed by technology in an open letter.
OpenAI, which came to the fore with resignations as a result of security concerns, will include two board members and Sam Altman on the new security board.
Meta has announced that it is developing its new multimodal AI model, Chameleon, which will rival OpenAI’s GPT-4o.
Amazon announced that it will start using its artificial intelligence called Project PI, which checks the defects of the products during the shipping phase, in many more warehouses within the year.
Türk Telekom tested the new generation 800GE data transmission technology between Istanbul and Ankara and managed to reach 800 Gbps speed.

DEVELOPMENTS FROM PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS REGARDING TECHNOLOGY

The Directorate of Communications, published the 128th and 129th issues of the Disinformation Bulletin. Accordingly, the claims that Atatürk Airport is becoming a religious complex, and that national mourning was not declared during the February 6 earthquakes do not reflect the truth.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that the FAST Secure Payment Transaction Layer Service, which will provide a controlled environment in payment transactions that require approval/registration, was launched on May 31, 2024, and that the Service can be used in different business models where there is a need to provide assurance to the parties in the transaction, primarily in the purchase and sale of second hand vehicles.
The Ministry of Commerce has published the Outlook of E-Commerce in Turkey Report. Accordingly, e-commerce volume increased by 115.15% in 2023 compared to the previous year and reached 1.85 trillion Turkish liras. The number of transactions increased by 22.25% year-on-year to 5.87 billion.

Pursuant to the Constitutional Court’s individual application decision dated 07.02.2024 andapplication number 2019/14799 published in the Official Gazette dated 31 May 2024 andnumbered 32562, it was decided that the termination of the employment contract on the basisof the posts made by the applicant on his social media accounts violated the applicant’s rightto respect for private life guaranteed in Article 20 of the Constitution. The Court stated that theacceptance that the applicant’s posts caused the rupture of the relationship of trust betweenthe applicant and the employer was based on the employer’s unilateral statement and that itwas not explained what the shares were. In addition, he pointed out that the employer andthe courts could not demonstrate that the continuation of the employment contract could notbe expected from the employer in terms of its results. When all these issues were evaluatedtogether, the Constitutional Court concluded that a careful trial was not carried out in whichthe guarantees specified in the Constitution regarding the right to respect for private life wereobserved and ruled that this right had been violated and that the applicant should becompensated.
