In order to accelerate Türkiye’s development in the field of small-sized modular reactors, it was announced that know-how and investment negotiations were held with American companies, especially technologies to increase uranium enrichment and conversion capacity.
As part of the Quantum Research Laboratory established by ASELSAN, the first domestically developed quantum integrated circuits were created with indigenous knowledge and technologies.
In cooperation with the Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation and Hackquarters, the establishment of the acceleration program namely, Workup4Future, has been completed. The program aims to support startups in Türkiye and find technological solutions to sustainability.

DEVELOPMENTS FROM PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS REGARDING TECHNOLOGY

The Directorate of Communications published 105th issue of the Disinformation Bulletin. Accordingly, the news that penalties will be imposed in 2024 on those who do not transition to the new chip-based identity and driver’s license cards does not reflect the truth. It was announced that the old-style driver’s license cards will remain valid until 31.12.2024.
The Head of the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, Omer Karagozoglu, stated in his speech at the National 40th Informatics Congress organized by the Türkiye Informatics Association that it is essential to strengthen the fiber infrastructure, protect critical infrastructure against cyber threats, and develop communication solutions resilient to disasters.
Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, announced that the artificial intelligence-supported Train Monitoring and Coordination Center has been put into operation to enhance traffic safety.
Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, conducted collaboration meetings with companies operating in the automotive and battery sectors in China. It was emphasized that Türkiye could become a production center for global brands in addition to TOGG.

NEWS ABOUT TÜRKİYE’S INTERNAL POLITICS AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS

The approval of Sweden’s NATO membership was accepted in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye’s Foreign Affairs Committee and is expected to be ratified and become law by the General Assembly in the new year.
During the TUBITAK Science Awards ceremony attended by President Erdogan, it was announced that a total of ₺17,8 billion in support was provided to 270.000 scientists for the year 2023.
