📌 KEY LEGAL DEVELOPMENTS
📘 Climate Law Proposal: The proposal began being discussed in the Turkish Grand National Assembly on April 9, 2025. The 22-article bill, with its first 4 articles already approved, aims to establish the legal framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and adapting to climate change policies in line with the net-zero emissions target for 2053, and foresees the establishment of a carbon market.
📈 Ministry of Trade: According to March 2025 foreign trade data, exports reached $23.4 billion, marking the second-highest March export figure in history. The exports over the last 12 months reached $263.4 billion. Minister Bolat stated that during visits to the USA and the UK, they will engage in talks to enhance trade relations.
🏭 Ministry of Industry and Technology: Industrial projects worth $9.3 billion to be implemented in 15 provinces were announced. The projects cover sectors such as solar energy, defense industry, automotive, health technologies, and petrochemicals. It is targeted to provide employment for over 20,000 people and contribute $12 billion to the current account balance.
⚖️ Competition Authority – Apple & Others: The Competition Authority completed its preliminary investigation into Apple and other companies. The findings were deemed sufficient and serious, leading to the initiation of a formal investigation under Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition.
⚖️ Competition Authority – Enterprises in Aydın: The authority moved to the oral defense phase regarding companies producing and selling ready-mixed concrete in Aydın, accused of joint price-fixing and market/customer sharing.

🧾 Consumer Products Communiqué: According to the communiqué published in the Official Gazette dated April 9, 2025, animal-based products must clearly indicate the animal source of the parts used.
💬 Commercial Electronic Message Communiqué: A change published in the Official Gazette on April 8, 2025, extended the deadline to obtain integrator authorization to June 30, 2025. The Ministry has the authority to extend this period by an additional 3 months.

🎓 Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University: It was detected that unauthorized access to personal data occurred through the PingPong mobile application via web services provided by İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University. The data breach affected employees and students, with a potential impact area covering 22,960 individuals.
