📌 KEY LEGAL DEVELOPMENTS
📘 Climate Law Proposal: The proposal began being discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on April 9, 2025. The 22-article bill, with the first 4 articles approved, aims to create the legal framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and climate change adaptation policies in line with the net zero emission target for 2053, and it foresees the establishment of a carbon market.
📈 Ministry of Trade: According to March 2025 foreign trade data, an export figure of 23.4 billion USD was achieved, marking the second highest March export value in history. Exports in the last 12 months reached 263.4 billion USD. Minister Bolat stated that during visits to the USA and UK, they will engage in efforts to strengthen trade relations.
🏭 Ministry of Industry and Technology: Industrial projects worth 9.3 billion USD will be implemented in 15 provinces. The projects in sectors such as solar energy, defense industry, automotive, health technologies, and petrochemicals aim to employ over 20,000 people and contribute 12 billion USD to the current account balance.
⚖️ Competition Authority – Apple & Others: The Competition Authority completed the preliminary investigation regarding Apple and other companies. Findings were deemed sufficient and serious, leading to the initiation of an investigation under Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition.
⚖️ Competition Authority – Enterprises in Aydın: Due to actions like joint price-fixing and regional/customer sharing among firms producing and selling ready-mixed concrete in Aydın, the process has moved to the oral defense phase.

🧾 Consumer Products Communiqué: According to the communiqué published in the Official Gazette dated April 9, 2025, it is mandatory to clearly specify which animal species the parts of animal-origin products are obtained from.
💬 Commercial Electronic Message Communiqué: With the amendment published in the Official Gazette dated April 8, 2025, the deadline to obtain integrator authorization has been extended to June 30, 2025. The ministry holds the authority to extend this period by an additional 3 months.
