Google introduced Gemini Robotics and Robotics-ER models that will enable robots to understand new situations and interact with their environment without training. These models stand out in terms of generalisation, interaction and dexterity. They can also perform tasks that require fine motor skills such as folding paper or opening bottle caps without being trained. 

Hyundai will start electric vehicle production at its İzmit plant in 2026. In phases, production of currently produced vehicle models will be halted and the factory will switch to producing only electric vehicles. This move is part of Hyundai’s goal to offer only zero-emission vehicles in the European market by 2035. 

The US Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) has removed more than 300 guidance blog posts on consumer and data law issues concerning Amazon, Microsoft and artificial intelligence companies. Among the deleted posts from the previous administration were content on how Amazon’s Alexa devices use consumer data and Microsoft’s unlawful processing of children’s personal data. Former FTC officials say the move favours big tech companies and could lead to legal issues 

The European Commission determined that Google and Apple did not comply with the Digital Markets Act and acted anti-competitively. It was stated that Google violated the rules by prioritising its own services in search results and preventing developers from offering alternative payment methods. On the other hand, Apple was given 2 years to make iPhones compatible with third-party devices. 

The European Parliament will issue two separate non-binding reports to examine the impact of artificial intelligence on the financial sector and copyrights. The finance report will assess the effects of the use of artificial intelligence on market stability and consumer protection, while the copyright report will address copyright infringements and regulatory compliance of content produced by artificial intelligence

The Directorate of Communication published the 165th issue of the Disinformation Bulletin. Accordingly, the allegations that a mining licence was granted to a forested area where water resources are located in Denizli and that the Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said that the exchange rate would not be supported until single digit inflation do not reflect the truth. 

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır made statements on the sector at the 50th Ordinary General Assembly of the Automotive Industry Association. He stated that Turkey’s annual automotive production increased from 357 thousand to 1 million 365 thousand and exports broke a record by exceeding 37 billion $. He also emphasised that Togg has reached more than 53 thousand vehicles and that major investments have been made for electric vehicle battery production. 

TÜBİTAK announced the projects to be supported under the “1832 Call for Green Transformation in Industry 2024-2” programme. Aiming to support the transition of the industry to environmentally friendly and sustainable production, 36 of the 77 projects that applied to the programme were entitled to receive financial support. 

Cyber Security Law entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette numbered 32846 and dated March 19, 2025. The law stipulates the establishment of the Cyber Security Board and the Cyber Security Presidency, taking necessary measures against cyber incidents and imprisonment penalties as well as administrative fines. 

Lawmakers in Turkey are planning to introduce a regulation similar to the EU’s Digital Markets Act. According to the information allegedly provided to the press by the officials, the regulation includes the supervision of algorithms and applications of technology companies, new obligations for data processing processes and new rules on competition law. 

The Personal Data Protection Authority approved three commitment applications for the transfer of personal data abroad made by Company X. This brings the number of accepted commitments regarding the transfer of data abroad to thirteen.
